Wallet Stolen, Staff Shoved: Hinsdale Cops

A woman's wallet was stolen while she was shopping at a local store, police said.

HINSDALE, IL — In the last few days, Hinsdale police handled cases involving a wallet theft, shoving at the hospital, a driver getting into two accidents and trespassing of a vehicle. Here is information from the latest Hinsdale police reports:

Wallet theft

  • A customer at Whole Foods Market, 500 E. Ogden Ave., told police her wallet was stolen from her purse about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. The purse was in her shopping cart. She reported $3,662 in fraudulent charges on her credit card and a $415 fraudulent charge on her debit card.

Staff shoved

  • A person shoved staff about 2:30 p.m. Nov. 30 at the Hinsdale hospital, 120 N. Oak St. The suspect is set to be charged upon release from medical care.

Theft at specialty hospital

  • A purse was stolen from a cabinet in a woman's cubicle between 8 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. Nov. 30 at RML Specialty Hospital, 5601 S. County Line Road. A suspect attempted to make a fraudulent purchase using a credit card from the purse, but the transaction was declined. The purse and wallet were valued at $75 and $200, respectively. The purse contained $121 in cash, credit cards and a driver's license.

Two accidents, same driver

  • A driver crashed into another car in the Manor Care nursing home parking lot, 600 W. Ogden Ave., and another car in the 500 block of West North Street about 3 p.m. Thursday. The first accident was labeled a hit-and-run. The woman was believed to be under the influence of alcohol. She was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries from the accidents. A search warrant was obtained for her blood and urine after she refused to provide a sample. Charges are pending results of the lab report.

Damage in yard

  • A decorative address identifier and a security sign in a yard were damaged between Wednesday and Saturday in the 500 block of North Vine Street.

Trespass of vehicle

  • Allen V. Wilson, 24, of Woodridge, was arrested about 2 p.m. Sunday at 57th Street and County Line Road on an Indiana warrant and on a charge of criminal trespass to a vehicle. He was stopped after a registration inquiry reported the car he was driving was stolen in Chicago. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
