Wallet Thefts, Birdbath Busted: Hinsdale Police
Wallets are reported stolen at two businesses in Hinsdale.
HINSDALE, IL — Hinsdale police handled theft, burglary and vandalism calls in recent days. Here is information from the latest police blotter:
- A victim informed police that her purse, wallet, glasses and a cellphone were missing after she was taken to the hospital in Hinsdale from ManorCare Hinsdale nursing home. The victim said she left her purse in her room at ManorCare before being taken to the hospital. The theft occurred between April 27 and May 7. It was reported May 21.
- An employee at BP gas station, 149 E. Ogden Ave., reported his wallet containing his driver's license, Social Security card and prepaid debit card was stolen between 5 and 6 p.m. May 19. The theft was reported May 22. The victim said he was missing his wallet after using the restroom and was unable to find it.
- Two unlocked cars in a driveway in the 100 block of North Adams Street were burglarized about 1 a.m. May 19. Someone rummaged through the interiors. Nothing was reported missing.
- Trevor A. Butler, 28, of Chicago, was arrested about 9:30 a.m. May 21 at Hickory Street and Garfield Avenue on a charge of driving with a suspended license and disobeying a stop sign. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
- Rokas Grajauskas, 20, of Naperville, was arrested at noon May 24 in the 400 block of East 55th Street on charges of no valid driver's license and unlawful display of registration. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
- A suspect stole $948 worth in cosmetics from Walgreens, 15 Grant Square, about 1 p.m. May 25. The man was described as having long brown hair with a mask covering his face.
- A birdbath was damaged between 1:15 and 4:15 p.m. May 24 in the 400 block of East Ninth Street. The birdbath was valued at $500.
- A front license plate was removed from a car between 6 and 9 p.m. May 21 in the 700 block of North Elm Street.
