See Video Of Car Theft In Hinsdale

HINSDALE, IL — The Hinsdale Police Department posted a video in July of a car theft in town. Over the weekend, Hinsdale detectives closed out the case with an arrest of a 17-year-old from Chicago, according to a police Facebook post Tuesday.

The teen, who will enter the juvenile court system in DuPage County on criminal charges, faces similar charges in other jurisdictions, police said.

"Unfortunately, the second offender in the video will not be charged," the police said in the Facebook post. "We wish we could talk about the investigative process in this matter. But let’s face it – if we talk about it openly, we become a little less effective in our work to combat these sorts of crimes. Our detectives worked diligently to close this case out."
