Water Main Break In Central Clarendon Hills

CLARENDON HILLS, IL – A water main break occurred Wednesday morning at the south side of the railroad crossing at Prospect Avenue in Clarendon Hills, the village said.

In the afternoon, the village temporarily reopened the Prospect crossing, but southbound traffic will be shut down at 8 a.m. Thursday, according to a village news release. Northbound traffic is set to continue as normal.

Railroad Avenue will be closed between South Prospect and the alley during the same time, the village said.

Barring any issues, the streets are expected to be reopened by 3 p.m.

"No residents or businesses are affected by the shutdown at this time, nor should they unless something goes wrong," the village said Wednesday afternoon.
