HINSDALE, IL – In the last few days, Hinsdale police handled cases involving an armed custody exchange, a loud party, a dog bite, a burglary and retail theft. Here is information from the latest Hinsdale police reports:

Armed custody exchange

  • Someone pointed a weapon at another person during a child custody exchange about 7:30 p.m. Friday in the parking lot at the Hinsdale police station, 121 Symonds Drive. Patch has filed a public records request with the village.

Loud party

  • A homeowner in the 800 block of Taft Road was cited on a charge of amplified music after 11 p.m. Saturday. Police responded to complaints of a loud party. The citation was issued after two warnings were given.

Loose dog

  • A woman told police that her dog was bitten by a loose dog about 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the 800 block of South Garfield Avenue. The loose dog's owner was cited on a charge of failing to restrain the dog.

Burglary

  • Someone entered an office building under construction and stole windows and various tools between 2:30 p.m. April 29 and 7 a.m. April 30. The building is at 222 E. Ogden Ave.

Retail theft

  • Two people were seen on surveillance video stealing cases of beer about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Walgreens, 15 Grant Square. The incident was reported the next day. The case is pending.
