Woman Points Gun Repeatedly Near Hinsdale Police Station: Cops
She did so during a planned child custody exchange in the parking lot, according to a police report.

HINSDALE, IL – A planned child custody exchange last month outside the Hinsdale police station turned into an argument that involved a gun, authorities said.
On Tuesday, Patch obtained the police report through a public records request. Parts of it were blacked out.
About 7:30 p.m. May 3, a man and a woman waited in a car for the exchange in the station's parking lot. It was unclear whether they or the other party had the child.

The report said the police station's video surveillance captured what happened.
The other party in the exchange, a 31-year-old Dolton woman, arrived and got out of the driver's seat, walked around her car and then sat in the front passenger seat, according to the report.

The woman then got out of the car and displayed a gun, police said. She pointed it several times at the other people. She made gestures with the gun as if it were discharged – a recoiling motion, the report said.
While she was doing so, a van that was uninvolved in the situation drove between the "arguing individuals," the report said. That prompted the woman to lower the weapon, police said.
She then pointed the gun and recoiled again, police said. The other people started walking toward the police station's lobby.
The woman drove away, pointing the gun a final time, police said.
The suspect had a valid firearm owner's identification card, or FOID, according to the report.
The report did not indicate that an arrest had been made.
Patch left a message for comment Wednesday morning with Police Chief Brian King.
