2 Injured In Lockport Home Invasion, 1 In Custody: Police
Police said the 32-year-old suspect was possibly high on psychedelic mushrooms before he assaulted two people with a lawn decoration.

LOCKPORT, IL — Two people were injured Saturday morning when police said a Lockport man possibly high on psychedelic mushrooms entered their home and assaulted them with a concrete lawn decoration before ransacking the house.
Alexander P. Lello, 32, is facing multiple charges after Lockport police said he invaded a home in the 1500 block of South Washington Street. Lello was taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
A resident who fled the home during the attack alerted police shortly before 1 a.m., according to authorities. Police said Lello fled the home while officers were en route, but they later found him in the 1700 block of South Madison Street.

According to police, when officers attempted to arrest Lello, he turned to face them and threatened them with a garden tool. Authorities said officers used a Taser on Lello to stop and arrest him.
When officers responded to the victims' home, they found a 54-year-old woman and a 72-year-old man were assaulted by Lello, police said. According to authorities, Lello entered the unlocked house after damaging several items on the front porch. Once inside, he struck both victims with a concrete lawn decoration he took from the home's front porch, police said. After attacking the residents, police said Lello entered the basement, damaging several walls and a television before fleeing on foot.

The man and woman suffered minor injuries, according to police. The man was taken to Silver Cross Hospital for treatment.
Police said it's possible Lello was under the influence of psychedelic mushrooms during the attack.
On Sunday, his bond was set at $50,000, and he was released after posting 10 percent, according to jail records. He is due back in court on Tuesday. Jail records show he is charged with home invasion causing injury, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, battery, criminal damage to property and resisting an officer.
