$4.5 Million Roadway Reconstruction Project Awarded For 16th, Madison

Construction is anticipated to start in early 2023.

LOCKPORT, IL — The $4.5 million 16th and Madison roadway reconstruction project was awarded to Austin-Tyler Construction, Inc., at Wednesday's Lockport City Council meeting.

Public Works Director Brent Cann said the project came in under budget.

"I think we did a great job all around with the overall project," Cann said.

The City merged three smaller capital projects into one larger project, according to council documents. The total cost of the project is $4,540,292.95.

The project will include the Lawrence Street water main installation and roadway reconstruction from Division to South, South Madison Street water main replacement project, and the 16th Street water main replacement and road reconstruction project.

The city had budgeted $4.7 million for the project in the 2023 budget, council documents state.

Construction is anticipated to start in early 2023.
