Lockport's Old Canal Days Thursday Events Canceled Due To Storms

LOCKPORT, IL — All of Old Canal Days events on Thursday have been canceled due to severe weather, the Lockport Chamber of Commerce shared.

The Chamber said Wednesday it had made "the difficult decision" to cancel all the events for Thursday due to the high probability of severe weather.

"The safety of our community, volunteers, vendors, sponsors, and attendees is our top priority. While we are disappointed to make this decision, we believe it is the most responsible course of action given the forecast," the Chamber said.

The drone show, which was set for Thursday night, has been rescheduled to 9:15 p.m. on Friday.

"We appreciate your understanding and continued support of Old Canal Days. We look forward to welcoming everyone back as the festival continues on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday as scheduled," the Chamber said. "While we are disappointed to miss Thursday's festivities, we are excited for a great weekend ahead and look forward to celebrating with our community throughout the remainder of the festival."
