LOCKPORT, IL — The City of Lockport is inviting residents, businesses and community members to a public open house to review proposed recommendations for downtown Lockport.
The open house will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on July 29 at ROXY Lockport, 1017 S. State St.
"Every idea and perspective helps shape the future of our downtown," the City shared on its Facebook.
This is the second open house the City will hold on the plans for the Greater Downtown area.
According to the City website, "community input at this stage will help the project team begin to finalize planning efforts for Greater Downtown Lockport related to land use and zoning, transportation and mobility, and character and identity."
The plan is analyzing the City's downtown area centered around the Metra Station, including the historic district along State Street. The Greater Downtown Plan will guide future development, looking at transit needs, infrastructured, housing and more.
