2 Homer Glen Businesses Burglarized Tuesday: Mayor

HOMER GLEN, IL — Two burglaries were reported early Tuesday at businesses in Homer Glen, Mayor Christina Neitzke-Troike shared on her Facebook page.

The burglaries were reported at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday at Sam's Bar and Gaming, 12320 W. 143rd St., and Nick's BBQ Restaurant, 15800 S. Bell Road.

According to the mayor's post, the Will County Sheriff's Office responded to an alarm at Sam's Bar and Gaming. The alarm company said that two people had made entry to the business after breaking a window on the front door.

While officers were at that scene, a second burglary at Nick's BBQ Restaurant was reported.

When officers arrived at each business, the suspects were already gone, according to the mayor's post. Both businesses had broken windows on the front doors.

A gray Acura MDX was shown on surveillance footage backing up and parking in front of Sam's, according to the mayor. Two people got out of the rear of the car and used sledgehammers to gain entry to the business.

An anti-burglary fog machine was activated, and the two people left the business immediately. Nothing was taken from Sam's Bar and Gaming, according to the mayor's post.

At Nick's BBQ, three gaming systems were damaged and their cash boxes were stolen. An unknown amount of cash was contained within those boxes, according to the mayor.

No arrests have been made yet in these incidents.
