Well, after 2 consecutive Will County Board delays, the Badger Rezoning request will finally be decided tomorrow at the August Will County Board Meeting, August 20th, at 9:30am.
This matter began in May with a number of registered letters sent to residents of the Cedar Glen Subdivision in the Village of Homer Glen⦠and registered letters sent to neighboring businesses. This letter from Will County announced that Badger Daylighting filed a request to rezone a parcel of land adjacent to our subdivision and the neighboring properties⦠from C2/R2 to C4.
Badger operates a light industrial business that belongs in an industrial park, NOT adjacent to an established residential subdivision and private picnic grove. Below are the commonsense objections:
π Roads and heavy truck traffic
π§ Private wells and groundwater
π Noise and quality of life
π‘ Residential neighborhoods
π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ Safety of our families and children
π³ Long-term character of our community
We want to thank all of the 926 residents that signed an online petition. Here is the link: change.org/p/stand-against-the-rezoning-near-cedar-glen-subdivision
The Village of Homer Glen and Homer Township have passed resolutions objecting to this rezoning request. Why?... the Comprehensive Plans of both municipalities do NOT allow Light Industrial usage. The Village took a step further and filed a Legal Objection. Badger will have to get 17 out of 22 Board Member votes for this rezoning request to pass.
Thank you all for your support. If you are interested and able to attend the Will County Board Meeting tomorrow, please do!
