HOMER GLEN, IL — The Village of Homer will hold the "Run To Remember" 5K on Sept. 12, honoring the 9/11 victims and first responders.
In recognition of the 25th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001, Homer Glen will hold the 5K charity run/walk.
The Run to Remember will benefit the 100 Club of Will County, an organization that supports the families of firefighters, police officers, and emergency responders whose loved ones dedicated themselves to serving communities and made the ultimate sacrifice, the Village said.
The Village is still seeking sponsors to help support the event. Sponsorship opportunities are available at a variety of levels, including monetary and in-kind donations, the Village shared.
You can register to participate in the 5K on the Village website. Registration is $35 before Sept. 12 and $40 on-site. Participants who register before Aug. 24 are guaranteed a race T-shirt.
The race will be held at Heritage Park, 14240 W. 151st St. The 5K run/walk begins at 8 a.m.
