2 Shot, 1 Dead In Crossfire In Lockport: Sheriff

LOCKPORT TOWNSHIP, IL — A 31-year-old woman is dead after a shooting on Wednesday night in Lockport Township, the Will County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies were called to a home on Dellwood Avenue at 7:54 p.m. Wednesday for a shooting. When police arrived, the sheriff's office said they found two victims in a driveway, a 31-year-old woman and an adult man.

Both were taken to the hospital, and the woman was pronounced dead. The man is expected to recover, the sheriff's office said.

Preliminary investigation shows the victims were bystanders who got caught in a crossfire while they were standing outside, according to the sheriff's office.

The investigation remains ongoing.
