No Arrests Announced 1 Week After Beloved Fairmont Mom Slain In Lockport Township

No announcement of arrests or persons in custody has been made in connection to a fatal shooting in Lockport Township last week.

LOCKPORT, IL — The Will County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday there are no updates a week after the fatal shooting of Michelle Robinson, 31, in Lockport Township.

The shooting happened on Dellwood Avenue at 7:54 p.m. on Sept. 2, the Will County Sheriff's Office said in a news release last week.

When deputies arrived, the sheriff's office said they found Robinson and a man in a driveway with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to the hospital, and Robinson was pronounced dead.

The man is expected to recover, the sheriff's office said last week.

Preliminary investigation shows the victims were bystanders who got caught in the crossfire of a shooting while they were standing outside, according to the sheriff's office.

No announcement of arrests or persons in custody has been made.

Fairmont School shared on its Facebook page that Robinson was "one of our beloved Fairmont mothers."

"There are simply no words that can adequately express the heartbreak we feel for this family and, especially, for their children who must now navigate a loss that no child should ever have to experience. As a school community, our hearts ache for them. We know that so many throughout our Fairmont community are hurting alongside this family," the school said.

The school is also collecting donations for the family, and details can be found on the school Facebook page.
