Lockport Holds Auction For 18 Route 66 Benches

LOCKPORT, IL — The Lockport Council of Arts is set to raffle off the 18 benches that were part of the Route 66 celebration this year.

The bench auction will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday at Central Square in Lockport.

All proceeds raised at the auction will go to the Lockport Council of Arts for future programming. The 18 benches were made by 18 different local artists.

"Come out for an evening of fun, food, and a chance to meet the artists who created the benches. Then take home your own piece of Route 66 history," the City said.
