LOCKPORT, IL — A Lockport man is charged with six counts of possession of child sexual abuse material after his probation officer examined his cell phone in June, the Will County Sheriff's Office said.
The sheriff's office said its investigation began in June when the office was notified by the Will County Probation Office of an incident involving a possible probation violation and possession of child sexual abuse material.
Piotr Fudala, 33, checked in for his probation meeting, and the probation officer requested to examine his cell phone. Fudala was charged with possession of child pornography in 2025.
Fudala provided his phone, and the probation officer found possible child sexual abuse material on the device, the sheriff's office said.
Detectives arrived at the Will County Probation Office and spoke with Fudala, who admitted to possessing the material on his phone, the sheriff's office said. Fudala consented to a forensic examination of his cell phone.
A forensic review of Fudala's phone yielded approximately 40 images and nine videos of child sexual abuse material, according to the sheriff's office.
An arrest warrant was issued on Monday for Fudala, and he is charged with six counts of a class 2 felony for possession of child sexual abuse material.
He was taken into custody on Monday at his home on Cameron Avenue in Lockport, the sheriff's office said. He was taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility and will be in court on Friday.
According to the Illinois State Police Sex Offender Registry, Fudala is a lifetime registrant and first registered as an offender in March.
