LOCKPORT, IL — Lockport Township High School District 205 shared in a news release that it has been designated an exemplary school by the Illinois State Board of Education for the first time.
The District earned the rating on the 2025-26 Illinois School Report Cards. This is the highest level of school performance in Illinois' accountability system.
The Exemplary designation recognizes schools demonstrating strong overall performance based on multiple measures within the state's accountability framework, according to a news release.
This milestone reflects the collective efforts of students, educators, staff, families, and community, the District said.
In a recent message to LTHS D205 parents and guardians, Superintendent Dr. Robert McBride celebrated this achievement and emphasized the importance of continuing to provide meaningful learning opportunities, support student growth, and prepare every Porter for success beyond high school, the school said.
