Armand Melendez passed away peacefully at the age of 68 on Friday, July 17, 2026, at his home in Joliet, Illinois, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on June 28, 1958, in Chicago, Illinois, Armand was the beloved son of the late Jose Guadalupe Melendez and Juanita Melendez. He graduated from Argo Community High School and continued his education at Moraine Valley Community College.
Armand's greatest joy in life was his family. He loved them more than anything, and they were always at the center of everything he did. He will be remembered for his kind heart, unwavering devotion, and the countless ways he showed his love through both words and actions.

A gifted and creative man, Armand enjoyed drawing, painting, and building things with his hands. He had a remarkable talent for creating and fixing just about anything, and his craftsmanship reflected both his imagination and attention to detail. Whether working on a project or expressing himself through art, he found joy in bringing ideas to life.
Armand also had a wonderful sense of humor. He loved making people laugh, especially by playing practical jokes, and his playful spirit brought smiles to the faces of family and friends. His warmth, creativity, and laughter will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Armand is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Sharon (nee Worth) Melendez; his children, Shannon (Stephen) Ceballos, Amanda (Joseph Pasteris) Melendez, Janelle Melendez, Armand (Tiffany) Melendez, Jr., and Gabrielle Melendez; 15 grandchildren, Olivia, Christopher, Kyeleigh, Abigail, Raquel, Cooper, Julian, Noah, Kenya, Sophia, Ariana, Aiden, Isabel, Paige, and Angel; mother-in-law, Maria Worth; and his siblings, Lupe (the late Artemio) Lopez, John (Tina) Melendez, Eduardo Melendez, and Syliva (Steve) Archibald.Numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
He is preceded by his parents; great-grandson, Landon; nephew, Christopher DeCesare; and his father-in-law, Robert C. Worth, Sr.
Visitation for Armand Melendez will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 6:00 p.m. As it was his request, cremation rites will be accorded following services.
