If you love the spooky season, the park district is holding auditions for actors and crew for its haunted attractions.
LOCKPORT, IL — For those who love Halloween and everything spooky, the Lockport Township Park District will hold auditions for actors and crew for its Hayride of Horror and Curse of the Bayou attractions in Dellwood Park.
Auditions will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 13 and 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 14 at Dellwood Park Community Center, 1811 S. Lawrence Ave. Creative Director Andrea Vaughn said all ages and all skill levels are welcome to audition, but those under 13 will need a parent with them.
Hayride of Horror and Curse of the Bayou are held on Fridays and Saturdays from 7 to 10 p.m. in October at Dellwood Park, 199 E. Woods Drive.

Vaughn said Hayride of Horror first started in 2015, with the addition of Curse of the Bayou in 2017. The attractions were closed in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Hayride of Horror is a family-friendly 25-30 minute hayride through Dellwood Park, while Curse of the Bayou is a walking haunt, which is less kid-friendly and up to parental discretion, Vaughn said. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes, and Vaughn said the attraction has been moved, so it's going to cover more and go a little deeper into the woods.
