Back To School: District 33C 2022-23 Dates To Know

HOMER GLEN, IL — Although it may not seem like it, there's just about two weeks before District 33C students head back to school on Aug. 17.

There are still a few weeks to enjoy summer, but as we get closer to the start of the school year, here's a look at what dates you should know for the 2022-23 school calendar.

• Aug. 17, first day for students in kindergarten through eighth grade, early dismissal
• Aug. 18, first full day for students in kindergarten through eighth grade, and pre-kindergarten students
• Sept. 5, Labor Day, no school
• Oct. 7, Teacher Institute, no school
• Oct. 10, Columbus Day, no school
• Nov. 4, school improvement day, half-day for students
• Nov. 8, Election Day, no school
• Nov. 21-22, parent-teacher conferences, no school
• Nov. 23-25, Thanksgiving holiday, no school
• Dec. 7, teacher articulation, early dismissal
• Dec. 16, school improvement day, half-day for students
• Dec. 22, day before winter break, early dismissal
• Dec. 23-Jan.6, winter break, no school
• Jan. 9, classes resume
• Jan. 16, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, no school
