Cakes XO Closing Nov. 19 In Lockport

LOCKPORT, IL — Cakes XO, a bakery in Lockport, will close its doors Nov. 19.

The Lockport bakery, which offers cakes, cupcakes and decorated sugar cookies opened at 14929 Archer Ave. in 2014, owner Joanne Saccomanno told Patch.

"It's hard for a small business to survive right now," Saccomanno said. She is retiring, and said she is looking forward to spending time with her family.

"This was an amazing opportunity, and a positive experience," she said, adding that her employees over the years have become like a family.

The bakery's last day is Nov. 19, when it will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

"Lockport, the Lockport Chamber of Commerce and the community have been so supportive," Saccomanno said.
