A memory café is a social gathering for individuals living with dementia or other cognitive impairments and their care partners (spouses, children, friend, and professional caregivers). This monthly program provides a comfortable space to connect with others in similar situations, featuring low-stress activities like music, crafts, guest speakers, conversation, and more. Light refreshments will be served.
Memory cafes are not respite care and individuals must be accompanied by their care partner.

In one hour, we nominate, vote, and donate. Together we choose to make a difference for a local charity or group.
At each of the quarterly meetings members nominate charities, three are chosen at random, and after a brief presentation, the members vote on which charity to support. Once the winning charity is announced, everyone writes a $100 check, on the spot directly to that charity. (Teams of 2 or 4 are welcome to join and share in the giving.)
100+ Women Who Care is perfect for you if:
-You want to help those in need, but cannot personally commit a lot of time or resources;
-You want to increase the dollar impact of your own generous contribution by pooling it with others;

Will County's Recyclepalooza takes place in New Lenox on Saturday, September 12, 2026, in partnership with ShareFest Will County! Free of charge, county residents can drop off nearly all kinds of unwanted electronics (such as televisions and computers), household hazardous wastes (such as paints, automotive fluids, and lawn chemicals), as well as scrap metal, wood, and clean polystyrene (Styrofoam) for recycling or safe disposal. Food pantry and animal shelter donations, toys, clothing, small home goods in working condition, and more will also be accepted.
The event takes place in New Lenox from 8 AM to 2 PM. Mark your calendars for the annual Senior Harvest featuring free fruits and vegetables. It will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at the VFW located at 1026 E 9th St in Lockport from 1-3pm. One bag per household, while supplies last. There will also be presentations from the Lockport Police Department, blood pressure checks by the Lockport Fire District, vaccinations by QuickRx, free prize drawings, and free coffee and refreshments. This event is sponsored by the Homer Oak Arbor of Gleaner Life Insurance Society in collaboration with&nbsp;M&amp;D&nbsp;Farms, Homer Glen.

Will County Children's Advocacy Center

The Will County Children's Advocacy Center was founded in 1995 by State's Attorney James Glasgow to partner with multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) comprised of law enforcement, DCFS investigators, medical personnel, prosecutors, and Will County CAC forensic interviewers, family advocates, and trauma therapists in response to reports of severe physical abuse, sexual abuse, commercial exploitation, neglect, and exposure to violence of children, in Will County, IL. Our Will County CAC intake/MDT coordinator, forensic interviewers, family advocates, and trauma therapists provide the following services: * Forensic Interviews: After a child is referred to the Will County CAC by law enforcement or the IL Dept. of Family Services (DCFS), our Intake Coordinator schedules a forensic interview for the child. One of our 4 forensic interviewers listens to the child’s story and asks non-leading, developmentally-appropriate questions as the child talks about the trauma he/she has experienced. Law enforcement, prosecution, DCFS, and mental health professionals observe the interview from a separate room. This reduces trauma for the child and provides a stronger foundation if the case goes to court. * Family Advocacy: Our family advocates are committed to helping each family navigate the complex systems that a family enters when a child makes an outcry of abuse. As each case goes through the investigation, prosecution and healing process, the team is there to help the family understand the process, learn about their rights and successfully access resources that will help their family during crisis. * Trauma-Focused Therapy: Our team of licensed clinical social workers provide short-term, trauma informed therapy to children who have received a forensic interview. Since child abuse affects the whole family, the services are available at no cost to both the child and their non-offending family members. Individual and group therapy is offered in English and Spanish.
