Construction Continues At Homer Library

The library is getting an addition for youth services.

HOMER GLEN, IL — Construction continues at Homer Township Public Library, as new spaces are built and renovations take place.

The projects are entirely self-funded, according to the library website. Construction started earlier this year.

One part of the project is an addition for youth services, according to the library website. It will include a large new room, a story time/craft room with a moveable glass wall, two additional family restrooms, diner booth seating area, three additional window seating areas and a new study room.

The second addition is the entry/atrium-type room, according to the library. This area will have a community reading room, newspaper area, and more seating.

Renovations include a book sale/storage room, a youth computer area, a water bottle filling station, replacement of the youth area carpet and another family restroom and study room.

The library is also doing some updates to its outdoor space, including more parking spaces, a gazebo and art garden, more seating and a Veterans Memorial Fountain.
