Creamery Locations Offer Free Lunch Programs

HOMER GLEN, IL — The Creamery in Homer Glen will be offering free lunches for K-12 students from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Wednesday. The business said the free lunch includes a hot dog, small fry and a small drink. The program will continue until schools reopen.

Free lunch programs have also been offered at the New Lenox and Manhattan Creamery locations, but the owners wanted to expand the program to the Homer Glen location too.

Owner Jordan Sisk said the Homer Glen free lunches will be offered with the help of Mike Glenn from Village Realty.

In the first week of the program in Homer Glen, 40 lunches were given out. Sisk said they expect that number to grow in the next few weeks.

The free lunch program started a few weeks ago at the Manhattan location, Sisk said. Kevin Molloy, a State Farm agent from New Lenox and Jen Fuessal of White Wave Properties in Manhattan came up with the idea.

"It has been an unbelievable turnout in Manhattan and a really cool thing for the community so we wanted to do the same thing over in Homer Glen," Sisk said.

In Manhattan, the first week had 22 free lunches served, then up to 203 lunches in the second week, and most recently, the Manhattan location served 282 lunches in the third week of the program. The Manhattan lunch program is offered from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Wednesday.

The New Lenox Creamery hasn't been left out either. At that location, Kevin Molloy from State Farm and Nelson Ridge Family Dental have teamed up to serve all first responders and healthcare workers, Sisk said. The lunch will be a hot dog or sloppy joe with a small fry and small drink between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. every Thursday.

The Creamery in Homer Glen is located at 15112 S. Bell Road.
