The most pressing issues facing our (board, district, etc.) are _______, and this is what I intend to do about them.

Correcting any misinformation about the library. I am always willing to answer any questions as is the Executive Director of the library.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I was a previous library employee for 14 years. I worked in every department of the library including circulation, youth services, Bookmobile and Adult Reference. I am passionate about the library and also a frequent user. I encourage anyone in the community to come and partake in any of the wonderful things the library offers.

If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency)? Or what changes would you like to see?

I am a current trustee seeking reelection.

Describe the other issues or ideas that define your campaign platform:

We are a strong community resource. We provide so many life-long learning opportunities and I want that to continue.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

As a previous employee, I am able to give real, working knowledge of how Homer Township Public Library operates. I have vast experience as a current trustee and want to continue to serve my community.

Why should voters trust you?

I have always been upfront and transparent and provide fact-checked information to the public. I cannot stress enough that the current board has always sought community input and acted 100% to support the Homer residents.

If you win this position, what accomplishment would make your term in office as a success?

I want to be able to follow through with the self-funded library expansion. I plan to continue to support and provide quality materials, programming and services to fit the changing needs of our community.

What are your views on fiscal policy, government spending and the handling of taxpayer dollars in the office you are seeking?

I proudly note that we account for 1.8% of a taxpayers bill. This amount has not increased in the past 10 years. Our awesome staff continues to support programming and materials with grant funding.

Do you support the Illinois assault weapons ban, and would you support a local assault weapons ban in this community?

N/A

Do you think the current board has done enough to support racial equality? If not, what specifically should be done to do so?

We support a diverse community and residents from all ethnicities.

Do you support the SAFE-T Act? Why or why not?

N/A

What are your thoughts on the crime rate in your community, and what more can be done to combat crime — especially violent crime — in town?

N/A

What is your view of the city's/village's approach to commercial and residential development?

N/A

When it comes to development, what are some key areas for improvement or additions you feel are most wanted by residents? What will need to be done to make this happen?

N/A

Is there any reason you would not serve your full term of office, other than those of health or family?

I am committed to continue to serve the Homer Township Public Library trustee role.

The best advice ever shared with me was:

Knowledge is a life-long opportunity. We should always continue to improve ourselves and our community.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I am a 30+ year resident and have seen many changes here, but the library has always been the one constant I could count on. I can't stress enough for everyone to visit the Homer Township Public Library and see firsthand what the current trustees, director and dedicated staff have worked so hard for. I promise you will be amazed!
