D33C Plans Hybrid Return Starting With Youngest Students
Kindergarten through second grade will head back to hybrid learning starting the week of Oct. 5.
HOMER GLEN, IL — District 33C in Homer Glen will once again try to do in-person learning at the district. The district had students in-person at school for the first week of school in August, before rising case numbers and substitute shortages caused a switch to full remote learning.
Now, the district is planning a hybrid return, with the staggered return of students depending on their age. According to a letter from Superintendent Craig Schoppe, kindergarten through second grade will return the week of Oct. 5, third and fourth grade will join the week of Oct. 19, followed by fifth and sixth graders the week of Nov. 2, and lastly seventh and eighth grade the week of Nov. 9.
Schoppe said in order to stay in-session, the district "desperately" needs substitute teachers. Pay is $150 a day, and you can call 708-226-7604 for more information.
