D33C Receives $50K Grant For Homer Junior High Maintenance

The total cost of the project is $149,500, so the grant covers just over a third of the repairs needed.

HOMER GLEN, IL — For the first time since 1993, Homer Junior High School will receive tuck pointing and sealing of the masonry on the building, the district said. District 33C has received a $50,000 School Maintenance Project grant from the Illinois School Board of Education.

The grant provides awards up to $50,000 for projects for the maintenance or upkeep of buildings or structures for educational purposes, according to the district.

The total cost of the project is $149,500, so the grant covers just over a third of the repairs needed. Patch has reached out for more information on the duration of the project and when it will begin.

According to the ISBE, there is $44 million available for the first round of grants for fiscal year 2020.
