Dangerous Heat: Lockport, Homer Glen Cooling Centers Available
A heat advisory is in effect in Homer Glen and Lockport until 7 p.m. Tuesday.
HOMER GLEN-LOCKPORT, IL — The U.S. National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory from noon-7 p.m. Tuesday, with heat index values of 110 degrees expected in some areas.
According to the Will County Emergency Management Agency, there are several cooling centers available across the county, including Homer Glen Village Hall, 14240 W. 151st St.; Lockport City Hall, 222 E. Ninth St.; and Lockport Township, 1463 S. Farrell Road.
Homer Glen Village Hall is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or by request; Lockport City Hall is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday; and Lockport Township is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
