District 33C School Calendar 2019-20: First Day Of School, Breaks

HOMER GLEN, IL — Homer District 33C students will soon head back to school for the 2019-20 school year. District 33C has released its school calendar for the year, which is full of important dates to remember for both parents and students.

The calendar includes dates like winter and spring break, holidays, conferences and half days. Here is the list of days you should know for this school year:

August

• Aug. 21 - First day of school, early dismissal at 12:48 p.m. for grades 5-8 and 2:05 p.m. dismissal for K-4
• Aug. 22 - First full day of school
• Aug. 30 - Teacher Institute Day, no school

September

• Sept. 2 - Labor Day, no school

October

• Oct. 14 - Columbus Day, no school
• Oct. 28 - Report cards distributed to students

November

• Nov. 25, Nov. 26 - Parent teacher conferences, no school
• Nov. 27, Nov. 28, Nov. 29 - Thanksgiving holiday, no school

December

• Dec. 4 - Teacher Articulation, 12:48 p.m. dismissal for grades 5-8, 2:05 p.m. dismissal for K-4
• Dec. 20 - Winter break begins at dismissal. 12:48 p.m. dismissal for grades 5-8, 2:05 p.m. dismissal for K-4

January

• Jan. 6 - Teacher Institute Day, no school
• Jan. 7 - Classes resume from winter break
• Jan. 20 - Martin Luther King Jr. Day, no school
• Jan. 21 - Report cards distributed to students
• Jan. 29 - Teacher articulation, 12:48 p.m. dismissal for grades 5-8, 2:05 p.m. dismissal for K-4

February

• Feb. 12 - Teacher articulation, 12:48 p.m. dismissal for grades 5-8, 2:05 p.m. dismissal for K-4
• Feb. 17 - President's Day, no school

March

• March 2 - Casimir Pulaski Day, no school
• March 11 - Teacher articulation, 12:48 p.m. dismissal for grades 5-8, 2:05 p.m. dismissal for K-4
• March 17 - No school
• March 27 - Report cards given to students. Early dismissal at 12:48 p.m. for grades 5-8, 2:05 p.m. dismissal for K-4. Spring break begins at end of day.

April

• April 6 - Classes resume from spring break
• April 10 - Good Friday, no school
• April 13 - Easter Monday, no school

May

• May 22 - Teacher articulation, 12:48 p.m. dismissal for grades 5-8, 2:05 p.m. dismissal for K-4
• May 25 - Memorial Day, no school
• May 29 - Eighth grade graduation
• May 29 - Half-day, school improvement, dismissal at 10:48 a.m. for grades 5-8, dismissal at 12:05 p.m. for K-4

June

• June 2 - Last day of school, dismissal at 10:48 a.m. for grades 5-8, dismissal at 12:05 p.m. for K-4
