District 91 To Start The Year With Remote Learning

The Milne-Kelvin Grove District 91 board of education has approved a two-phase reopening plan for the 2020-21 school year.

LOCKPORT, IL — The Milne-Kelvin Grove District 91 board of education has approved a two-phase reopening plan for the 2020-21 school year. According to the school website, District 91 will offer full remote learning to all students to start the year, before moving to a hybrid approach on Sept. 28.

The first day of remote learning will be Aug. 31, and teachers will offer remote learning from their classrooms on a schedule, according to the district website.

On Sept. 28, students who selected the blended option will begin to attend in-person school two days per week. According to the district website, when blended learning begins, masks will be worn by students and staff; there will be daily symptom screening; and there will be social distancing to the greatest extent.

If families don't want to move to hybrid learning in September, they can choose to remain in remote learning through December.
