DNA Links Oak Lawn Man to Homer Glen Burglary
The burglary took place in December 2014.

Police say DNA evidence has assisted in nabbing an Oak Lawn man for a burglary in Homer Glen from last year.
The burglary took place Dec. 4, 2014, at a home in the 12000 block of Mackinac Drive. Two pillowcases were taken from the bed, and one was found outside containing items belonging to the homeowners. The second is still missing.
Officers also recovered a crowbar from the scene, and were able to obtain a DNA profile, Herald-News reports. The profile was crosschecked against criminal databases and allegedly matched Jason J. Gutson, 38, of the 8900 block of Austin Avenue in Oak Lawn.

Authorities searched Gutson’s home, and found residue from the tire iron from his car was the same as fireproofing material found at the Homer Glen residence, according to the report.
Gutson was taken into custody on Wednesday, and was booked into the Will County jail on a charge of residential burglary. He is being held on $100,000 bond.
