Fifth Annual Chalk It Up Planned In Homer Glen

HOMER GLEN, IL — If you've got sidewalk chalk art skills, or enjoy drawing with chalk, head on out to the Village of Homer Glen's Chalk It Up event on Aug. 13.

You can register online for the event, which requires a $5 entry fee.

The event will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 13 at Heritage Park in Homer Glen. The fifth annual fest is available to all ages, and will have four age categories (ages 6 and under, ages 7-10, ages 11-15 and ages 16-adult).

Prizes will be awarded for best use of color, most interesting characters, most creative theme and best overall effort for the 7 to 10 and the 11 to 15 age groups, according to the Village. One prize will be awarded for the adult age group.

Each participant will be given one box of chalk, but they can bring extra chalk, chalk pastels and blending tools if they want, according to the Village.
