Fire Damages Vacant Home In Lockport Township: Fire District
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was determined to be electrical in nature.

LOCKPORT, IL — A fire damaged a home in unincorporated Lockport Township Tuesday, the Lockport Township Fire Protection District said. A passerby called and reported smoke coming from the roof of a home in the 400 block of Fairmont Avenue at 5:46 p.m. Tuesday.
The district said crews arrived to find a fire in the attic of the vacant home. The fire was quickly brought under control, but did cause $3,000 in damages.
Assistance with change of quarters coverage was provided by Romeoville, Northwest Homer, East
Joliet and Plainfield fire departments while the Lockport companies worked at the fire.
