Five Lockport City Council Seats Up For Election In April

LOCKPORT, IL — Candidates for Lockport City Council in the upcoming April 4 consolidated general election can file nomination petitions at City Hall until Dec. 19, according to the City website.

The City Clerk's Office will remain open until 5 p.m. on Dec. 19.

There are several alderperson seats up for election on the City Council, including:

• First ward alderperson, 4-year term
• Second ward alderperson, 4-year term
• Second ward alderperson, 2-year term
• Third ward alderperson, 4-year term
• Fourth ward alderperson, 4-year term

If candidates are filing for the second ward positions, they must indicate either the 4-year term or the 2-year term, according to the City.

The next date to know in the upcoming election process is Dec. 27, which is the last day to file objections to nomination petitions of candidates.
