The Forest Preserve District of Will County will hold two events in Homer Glen this month.
HOMER GLEN, IL — The Forest Preserve District of Will County will hold two events in Homer Glen this month. First, a Spring Nature Photography Hike will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, at Messenger Woods Nature Preserve at the Hawthorn Grove Shelter. The preserve said the program will focus on technique and composition, not camera operation. The free program is for ages 16 and older.
You can register by Thursday, May 9 online or call 708-946-2216.
Next, a naturalist-led bird hike will be held May 19 at Messenger Marsh in Homer Glen. The free bird hike will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. The preserve said this is the perfect time of the year to spot migrating birds because tree leaves are still emerging. The programs are for both beginners and experienced birders.
