Free Pumpkin Fun Run Set For Oct. 15 At Hadley Valley Preserve

Celebrate the fall season with the Forest Preserve District of Will County's Pumpkin Fun Run!

The free, all-ages run will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, at Hadley Valley - Gougar Road Access in Joliet.

The run is open to runners and walkers of all ages and abilities who enjoy getting active outdoors. The fun run is just less than 2.5 miles on a crushed limestone surface. Take in the sights and sounds of fall as you cruise through beautiful Hadley Valley Preserve. Strollers are welcome.

After crossing the finish line, choose the perfect mini pumpkin to take home. Each participant will also receive a complimentary orange wrist sweatband with a zipper pocket to wear during the race and future outdoor adventures.

After your run, enjoy fun games and activities, including face painting. Auntie Anne's Pretzels will also be onsite.

When registering, choose a time slot for the start of your run: 11, 11:15, 11:30 or 11:45 a.m.Please no in-line skates, bicycles or dogs at this event. Parking is available at Hadley Valley — Gougar Road Access, and overflow parking is available at the preserve’s Route 6 Access. Check-in will be at the Gougar Road Access.

The fun run route will be just less than 2.5 miles on a crushed limestone trail. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should mention their request when registering, or submit a request on-line no later than 48 hours before the program.
