Grant Program OK'd For Businesses Impacted By Downtown Lockport Construction
$150,000 from the city's gaming fund will be used for the grant program.
LOCKPORT, IL — The Lockport City Council approved a small business streetscape impact grant program at its Wednesday council meeting.
The grant program is for businesses impacted by Ninth Street and State Street streetscape construction, which includes construction on State Street between 10th and 11th streets and Ninth Street between State and Hamilton streets.
According to council documents, the project is a significant addition to the downtown, but has created challenges for local businesses in the area.

The grant program is restricted to sales-tax producing businesses within the project area, council documents state. Any recipient will need to show revenue loss via income states and comparative weekly receipts from 2021.
