A-L: 12-1 p.m. Aug. 17

M-Z: 5-6 p.m. Aug. 17

** Returning 8th-graders are invited to visit the school with their parents between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. on Aug 17. All junior high students will have their fall portraits taken at the Open House.

Homer Junior High School students and their parents are asked to enter the building through the main entrance where they will pick up their class schedule before proceeding.

“New” students, including incoming 7th-graders and 8th-graders who are new to the district, will be directed to the gymnasium for a brief presentation on dress code and school expectations. Afterward, they will have an opportunity to tour the building, find their classes, practice their hallway locker combinations and purchase gym uniforms or other Homer Junior High items.

Eighth-grade students who are not new to the district need not attend the orientation program in the gymnasium. They may tour the building and find their lockers after picking up their class schedules at the main entrance. Gym uniforms also will be available for purchase.

All junior high students, whether they are new to the district or not, will have their fall portraits taken and student I.D. cards issued at the Drop-Off Day on Aug. 17.

While families are asked to adhere to the assigned orientation times, there will be some flexibility with the middle school and junior high schedules.

“If it is not convenient for you and your family to attend the assigned orientation time, you may attend the other session,” said Homer Junior High Principal Troy Mitchell and Hadley Middle School Principal Kristen Schroeder.
