Homer Glen Approves $187K Budget For HomerFest

The village board approved a $187,525 budget for its annual community fest, planned for the summer.

HOMER GLEN, IL — The Homer Glen Village Board approved a $187,525 budget for the 2022 Homer Community Festival at its Wednesday board meeting.

According to board documents, in 2021, the budget was $186,800, and expenses were less than budgeted, totaling $166,959.47. Revenues were $223,419.25.

Inflation is expected in 2022, board documents state. The new budget includes an increase for fireworks, audio services for the fireworks music and fees for bands.

"It ends up being kind of like an even exchange for every fest, where it makes the money, goes back into the fund, we ask for it again," Trustee Dan Fialko said. "It keeps everything in check."
