Homer Glen Approves Gas Station With Mini Mart, Car Wash

HOMER GLEN, IL — The Homer Glen Village Board recently approved a Gas N Wash, which will include a gas station, mini mart and car wash. The new gas station will be located at the northeast corner of 159th Street and South Gougar Road.

According to board documents, the gas station will also sell packaged liquor products. There was a plan for two fueling lanes for semi-trucks, but that has been eliminated from the site plan.

The special use permit needed for the property was approved unanimously by the village board. The property is located at the edge of a 44-acre undeveloped parcel. Board documents state that the Plan Commission denied the site plan, before it was approved by the village board. Members of the public spoke out against the business, citing concerns of truck traffic, noise and lighting.
