Board documents show the new playground will have a see-saw, swings, slides, and a variety of play items like a leaf seat, climbing structures and a frog slide puzzle.

Trustee Rose Reynders said the parks committee works hard on trying to update the parks in Homer Glen.

"Goreham Park was really probably the most park that really needed an update," Reynders said. "What we're going to be doing is every year we're going to be taking one park within the Village, and we're going to be updating it or replacing it."

Reynders added that the life of a park is usually about 15 years.

Trustee Curtis Mason said the item could've been put on the consent agenda, but "we pulled it from the consent agenda to put it out here for visibility" and so the public could comment.
