Homer Glen Holds Community Clean-Up, Lands Day
There will be an information table set up Sept. 28 in the Homer Town Square parking lot, by Jewel Osco, 14200 S. Bell Road.
HOMER GLEN, IL — Homer Glen will hold a joint event, Homer Glen Lands Day and Community Clean-Up day, on Saturday, Sept. 28. The village said it is encouraging residents to explore the village's trails and public lands.
The community clean-up event was originally scheduled in April, but was canceled due to inclement weather.
There will be an information table set up from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Homer Town Square parking lot, by Jewel Osco, 14200 S. Bell Road. The village said there will be trail maps and supplies to assist with garbage pick-up. Those who sign in and assist with clean-up will have their names entered in a prize drawing.

According to the village, Homer Glen Lands Day was created in 2002. The Environment Committee has also planted a tree on public property every year to recognize the day.
The village said this year a hickory tree will be planted in Evlyn's Gate North park to commemorate the date.
