​Homer Glen Mayor Announces Endorsement Of Jim Durkin For State Representative

Homer Glen Mayor George Yukich​, as well as several mayors and village presidents across the 82nd district, have announced their endorsement

HOMER GLEN, IL – Homer Glen Mayor George Yukich, as well as several mayors and village presidents across the 82nd district, have announced their endorsement of current State Rep. Jim Durkin, a Western Springs Republican, to the Illinois House of Representatives.

“As a longtime resident of Western Springs, I’ve seen Jim put his district and community first,” Western Springs Village President Alice Gallagher said in a release. “He’s continuously fought to make education a priority and will continue to stand up for the people of the 82nd District.”

According to the release, Durkin’s tenure at the statehouse includes serving as the ranking Republican on the
Illinois House of Representative Special Investigation Committee for the impeachment of former Governor Rod Blagojevich in 2008.

“Jim Durkin is the only choice to represent the suburban values of our district in Springfield,” Yukich said in a release. “He has stood up to the Democrat Machine and will continue to fight for his constituents.”

“It has been my life’s honor to work for the people and represent the values of the 82nd district in Springfield to ensure our priorities are respected and brought to the table every day,” Durkin said in a release. “I am humbled by the support of my fellow community leaders.”

The primary election is set for March 20, 2018.

Other mayors and village presidents that have endorsed Durkin include: Addison Mayor Rich Veenstra, Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin, Bensenville Village President Frank DeSimone, Bloomingdale Village President Franco A. Coladipietro, Bolingbrook Mayor Roger Claar, Carol Stream Mayor Frank Saverino, Geneva Mayor Kevin Burns, Hanover Park Village President Rodney Craig, Naperville Mayor Steve Chirico, Oakbrook Terrace Mayor Tony Ragucci, Roselle Mayor Andy Maglio, West Chicago Mayor Ruben Pineda, Western Springs Village President Alice Gallagher, Willowbrook Mayor Frank Trilla and Wood Dale Mayor Nunzio Pulice.
