Homer Glen Recognizes District 33C Girls Bowling State Champs

The girls team won the state competition,​ coming in first with 7,268 points.

HOMER GLEN, IL — At the village board meeting on May 22, Mayor George Yukich presented certificates of outstanding achievement to the Homer District 33C girls bowling team. The IESA bowling state finals were held in April, and the girls team won the competition, coming in first with 7,268 points.

The village said the team was the defending state champions and won it again for back to back state championships. The girls team at the tournament consisted of Cassie Kontos, Kadie Kontos, Matiasek and Lauren Bacys.

Individually, Matiasek placed second with 2,104 points and Kontos placed eighth with a score of 1,838 points.
