Homer Glen Searches For Big Tree Champions

HOMER GLEN, IL — For the second year in a row, Homer Glen will hold the Big Tree Champions Contest. The village said the Homer Glen Environment Committee is looking for the biggest trees in the village.

Nominations for every species of living tree that exists are encouraged to be submitted. The village said verification of measurement will be made by the Environment Committee. The largest tree of each species (such as maple, oak, pine, etc.) will receive recognition. Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to search in forests, parks and their private property in the village of Homer Glen.

Applications are available on the village website and at Village Hall, 14240 W. 151st St. The deadline for submission is April 30.
