Homer Glen Trustee Resigns, Village Seeking Interim Trustee

HOMER GLEN, IL — Trustee Brian Burian announced his resignation as trustee at the village board meeting March 11. According to the village, Burian has accepted a new position as Chief of Staff in the Illinois State Senate.

The new job creates scheduling conflicts and Burian said he believes the residents of Homer Glen deserve someone who can represent their interests and attend important meetings.

"It has been one of the great honors of my life to serve the residents of our community these last five years and I am enormously proud of the many things we have accomplished together for Homer Glen," Burian said in a letter to the board.

Mayor George Yukich, with agreement of the village trustees, will appoint a new trustee to serve the remaining term of the office until May 2021.

The village said it is accepting resumes for this trustee vacancy until March 27. Interested residents of Homer Glen should send their resumes, along with a cover letter, to the Village Manager Karie Friling, at 14240 W. 151st St.; Homer Glen, Illinois 60491 or email to kfriling@homerglenil.org.
