Homer Glen Urges Selection Of McMichael To Hall Of Fame
McMichael has been named as one of 12 finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and the vote is later this month.

HOMER GLEN, IL — The Village of Homer Glen is urging the Pro Football Hall of Fame Selection committee to name Steve McMichael to the Football Hall of Fame.
The Village Board passed a resolution at its Wednesday meeting. McMichael began playing for the Chicago Bears in 1981, and had an "astounding streak" of starting in 101 games, Trustee Dan Fialko said during the meeting.
"McMichael played in the National Football League for 15 years, where he was a two-time Pro Bowler and five-time All Pro, who was integral to the Chicago Bears victory in SuperBowl XX," Fialko said.

Misty McMichael, who has been married to the former Bears defensive lineman and pro wrestler for 22 years, told Patch previously that she is optimistic that her husband will finally be voted into the Hall. But, she said, that she fears that his chances have now reached the "now or never" stage.
The Hall of Fame vote is Aug. 22. If elected to the Hall, McMichael would join fellow 1985 Bears Walter Payton, Jimbo Covert, Dan Hampton, Mike Singletary, and Richard Dent — along with former Bears coach Mike Ditka in Canton.
