Homer Glen Village Manager Resigns

A special board meeting will be held Aug. 7 to possibly appoint an interim village manager.

HOMER GLEN, IL — Village Manager Carmen Maurella has resigned after a year in the position, the Village of Homer Glen shared on its Facebook.

Maurella was appointed by the Board in March 2022. He also serves as the Homer Township Assessor.

In a post on the Village's Facebook, Mayor Christina Neitzke-Troike said she has appointed Joe Baber as acting interim village manager until a special village board meeting on Aug. 7. Neitzke-Troike said that at that meeting she will recommend that Baber be appointed as interim village manager.

"Baber has previously served as Interim Village Manager and is more than qualified to lead the Village in the Manager capacity," she said on the Village Facebook.

She wished Maurella luck in his future endeavors.

"The Board and I pledge to continue working to ensure Homer Glen remains a wonderful place to live, work, and raise our families," Neitzke-Troike said.
