Homer Junior High Baseball Advances To State Tournament

The team will face off against Mt. Zion (14-5-1) at 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 30.

HOMER GLEN, IL — Baseball season is not over yet, as the Homer Junior High School's boys team has advanced to the first round of the Class 3A IESA state tournament.

The team will face off against Mt. Zion (14-5-1) at 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 30 at Eastside Centre in East Peoria, according to the IESA website.

Homer is 11-3-0.

Homer defeated Shorewood's Troy on Sept. 24 in the sectional championships. The team had advanced to sectionals after defeating Lemont's Old Quarry at regionals, according to the IESA website.

The winner of the game on Sept. 30 will go on to face the winner of Morton Junior High School and Edwardsville's Lincoln Middle School.
